WATERCOLOR WORKSHOP

The Pedicure

Ten-hut!  Drop (your brush) and give me twenty (strokes, that is).

All the basics for privates (beginners) and sergeants (intermediates).  Renew, refresh, review – that’s an order!

Be prepared as instructor Catherine Hillis guides you through the mazes of watercolor’s basic skills, on to the basics of good composition and design and then on to some of the contemporary techniques happening in the exciting field of watermedia.  The day will include demonstrations, step by step instruction, individual coaching, a sense of humor and a positive critique session in the afternoon.  Students will paint from their own photographs and work towards completing a painting.  Students will leave energized and focused on the next steps in their painting. Mrs. Hillis is known for her nurturing, common sense approach to teaching watercolors and bases some of the material she presents on the article she wrote for American Artist Magazine.  Watch her teach a beginning lesson on www.monkeysee.com (type in watercolors).

The workshop is suitable for beginning to intermediate students. Bring watercolor supplies and your own photographs to paint from.
